Workflow of outsourcing your Arabic cataloging
- Your Arabic Titles
Surrogates
- Photocpies of title page, verso, cover, table of contents, last numbered page, and added title page(s) if available.
- Photocopies of first and last pages of the bibliographical refernces. If the pagination is in Arabic digits, no need for the photocopies. A note with the page range will do.
- In the case of multi-volumes, if a contents note is needed, a photocopy of the title page of each volume.
- If you barcode your volumes prior to marking, a photocopy of the barcoded page will help in providing you with a 949 for each volume
Books
- In case of multi-volues, a photocopy each of the title page and the barcoded page of each additional volume.
- The item is catgaloged in OCLC®. We use the current version of Connexion® 1.70. We keep track of version changes and updates so you can be sure we are using the most current version of the software.
- Cataloging is complete, with Library of Congress Classification or Dewey Decimal Classification numbers, authorized subject and name headings, and any other additions that you may want for your local records.
- All records are saved to a local bibliographic file, then exported to either a *.dat or *.mrc file.
- The Export file can be accessed either from an exclusive directory on our FTP site, or sent to you on a disk.
- Before the final export, a validation report is generated for the records and is mailed to you with your material.
- We keep backup files for all your bibiliographic records, no matter how much space they occupy on our server.
- Statistics are kept and are accessible at any given time.
